3 Peak Challenge 2017
Why have Teamroughnecks decided to take on the might of the UK 3 peaks all in 24 hours
Spring/Summer of 2017....
Ben Nevis 1344m
Scafell Pike 978m
Snowdon 1085m
Am sure many of you have heard me chant “3 peaks in 24hours does not appeal to me” as it would not allow you to soak in the breathtaking, quaint, majestic views each mountain in its own right would offer to the hiker seeking freedom and solitude.
But if you strip back to its core and ask the question;
Why do people attempt the 3 Peak Challenge?
Yes their is the personal challenge of conquest, triumph and achievement but the census is that the vast majority of participants are raising for much needed funds to assist charities with their good causes.
If we can raise enough money to even make a small difference to a single child’s wellbeing, by simply scaling 3 hills in 24 hours then by gods will it’s a sincere and worthy challenge to attempt..
Having previously summited all 3 peaks over a 12 month period the below timing look unattainable, but exciting and challenging all the same..
Ben Nevis ascent 3 hours descent 2 hours
Driving time to Scafell Pike Wasdale Head 6 hours
Scafell Pike ascent 2 ¼ hours descent 1 ¾ hours
Driving Time to Snowdon Pen-y-Pass 4 ½ hours
Snowdon ascent 2 ¼ hours descent 1 ¾ hour
Total 23 ½ hours
If you are interested and you’re feeling courage’s, inspired, motivated and more importantly have the uphill drive to scale the 3 highest peaks of the UK all in 24 Hours for good charitable causes, then
Sign up and buckle up!
